Defne Youth Center

We established a youth center focused on education and development for young people affected by the earthquake in Hatay Defne.

Project Detail

The Hatay Defne Youth Center is a youth space established after the February 6, 2023 earthquakes to support the educational, personal development, and psychosocial needs of young people affected by the disaster.
Established in the Defne district of Hatay with the support of the PepsiCo Foundation and in collaboration with the Ahbap Association, the center offers a safe, inclusive, and productive social environment for young people aged 12–29.

Project Objective

This center aims to empower young people not only academically but also emotionally, socially, and culturally after the earthquake.
It contributes to the long-term recovery process by creating a space where young people can express themselves, acquire new skills, and produce together.

Facilities Offered at the Center

The Hatay Defne Youth Center has a multifaceted infrastructure designed according to the interests and needs of young people.

  • Library
With 427 m² of indoor space and approximately 500 m² of garden space, the center provides a safe environment for learning, production, and social interaction.

Who Can Benefit?

Young people aged 12–29 can benefit from the center.
In addition to workshop activities, young people enjoy an experience based on active participation in social clubs, volunteer teams, sports, and cultural activities.
