Project Detail
In 2023, we launched an important project for auto industry professionals who lost their workshops or equipment in the earthquake zone. With the valuable support of Castrol Turkey, we provided 109 master mechanics in Adıyaman, Gölbaşı, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Göksun, and Elbistan with the equipment they needed.
Field Visits
During field visits, it was observed that the majority of auto industry tradespeople in areas severely affected by the earthquake had lost their workspaces and equipment, and were trying to continue their activities in heavily damaged buildings, temporary shelters, container shops, or on shop ruins. It was noted that many businesses had suffered significant losses of tools, equipment, and materials, and that the demolition and reconstruction processes would take months.
While industrial sites in some areas had largely lost their functionality, it was found that in a limited number of areas, structural damage was lower, and tradespeople were able to continue their work to a large extent. In line with these differences, priority was given to areas with the greatest need for support, with the aim of sustaining employment, enabling businesses to resume production, and improving working conditions to at least a minimum level.
