Stitch of Love

We deliver scarves, hats, and toys made by Ahbap volunteers to children in need.

Project Detail

The Love Stitch Project is a comprehensive social responsibility initiative that aims to foster a culture of solidarity by delivering scarves, hats, and toys made by Ahbap volunteers to children in need.
The project also offers a unique interaction model that supports the mental and motor skills of dementia patients through knitting workshops held in nursing homes, thereby increasing social benefit in two ways.
Thanks to this structure, volunteers actively involved in production, as well as children, elderly individuals, and those in need, benefit from the project in multiple ways.

Project Scope and Implementation Model

The Love Stitch Project is not merely a model of aid aimed at meeting needs; it also offers a holistic structure that brings together production, sharing, intergenerational solidarity, and creative thinking.

Throughout 2025, the project will be carried out in three periods:
1st Period: April – July
2nd Period: July – October
3rd Period: October – December

This periodic work system ensures the sustainability of the project throughout the year and allows more volunteers to participate in production.

The toys and knitting patterns sent to children as part of the project help them:
  • It enables them to develop their creative thinking skills,
  • draw, and express their imagination,
  • and create original designs using colors, shapes, and figures.
These templates, painted by children, are later brought to life by volunteers in knitting workshops and transformed into real scarves, hats, and toys. This approach contributes to the transformation of children's imagination into a tangible product and increases their sense of belonging to the project.

Voluntary Production Process

Volunteers participate in knitting workshops held throughout each period:
  • Based on children's drawings, they produce knitted toys,
  • handmade berets,
  • scarves, and other winter products.

This production process both highlights the personal contributions of volunteers and strengthens the culture of solidarity within the community. In some cities, workshops are conducted in collaboration with nursing homes, positively contributing to the motor skills and mental activities of dementia patients.
